ASSA ABLOY Security Solutions, a division of ASSA ABLOY UK is encouraging architects and specifiers to take advantage of its latest range of RIBA approved CPD seminars.
With doorsets due to become CE marked in July 2013, architects can now book places on ASSA ABLOY’s RIBA approved CPD course: Doorsets & CE marking in 2013: The implications for Architects.
Designed to equip architects working in a variety of sectors, from health and education to commercial and leisure sectors, with the knowledge they need to correctly specify, soon to become, CE Marked doorsets, this latest addition to the ASSA ABLOY CPD collection helps to address some of the most current industry issues.
This latest seminar has been introduced to provide clarity and guidance following the 2013 changes to CE marking on doorsets and door assembles. The CPD explains the differences between a door assembly and a doorset and demonstrates the benefits of specifying doorsets.
In addition, standards affecting CE marked doorsets will be identified and discussed, as well as the potential impact the changes to CE marking will have on these.
Architects can also benefit from ASSA ABLOY Security Solutions’ RIBA accredited CPD entitled Ironmongery & Inclusive Design: A guide for Architects. Designed to help clarify the role of accessibility in security and ironmongery specification, the seminar focuses on the importance of inclusive design, the three relevant documents that aid inclusive design and finally specification considerations, such as door furniture, controls and emergency hardware.
Winnette Deflorimonte-Uttley, CPD Co-ordinator for ASSA ABLOY UK, said: “
As an established provider of RIBA accredited CPD courses, we regularly update and add new seminars to our offering, in line with changes to legislation and industry practice. Our latest CPD on CE marking, is in anticipation of the 2013 changes, which will help architects to stay at the very forefront of doorset specification. “
RIBA Architects can use our CPD courses to gain training points, which supplement their annual points targets. Plus, the courses are available at our ASSA ABLOY Training Academy, based in the Midlands offering easy access and good transport links, or for additional flexibility we are able to conduct the seminars on site.”
